, Vice President, Director of Surrey Street Teams
Austin began his involvement and training with the Vancouver street ministry outreach teams in 2001. A year later the ministry expanded to Surrey where he became a part of the Monday night team. Involvement grew to include roles on the board of directors, work with the maintenance of Sancta Maria House and oversee the establishment of street teams in the old downtown core of Chilliwack.
, Director of Finance
Angela Kaiser holds a B.Comm degree from UBC and is a Chartered Professional Accountant. She also holds a Certified Financial Planner designation and the ICD.D(Institute of Corporate Directors) designation. She operates a public practice accounting firm in North Delta, BC that focuses on the financial, tax and accounting needs of individuals and small business corporations. She has been an active member of Immaculate Conception Parish having served on the PEC for a full term while her 4 daughters attended elementary school.
Angela’s financial background, governance experience and passion are just some of the attributes that enable her to provide valuable input to the Board. She also serves as a director at Prospera Credit Union, Central 1 Credit Union, CUPP Services Ltd., BC Cooperative Association and the Delta Police Board.
Giving back to the community is a core value and in addition to serving on the Board of Agape Street Ministry and Sancta Maria House, she also volunteers as a Program Facilitator for Junior Achievement of BC and supports young students in their musical development. In 2018, she received the Women in Finance Peak Award for Significant Board Contribution.
Sharmila Gracieuse is a volunteer with the Surrey Team for the past 3 years. She holds a Masters Degree in Sociology. She is currently working towards the certifications in Project Management and Chartered Professional in Human Resources.
Sharmila is involved in several causes, including the start up of Friends of Children not for profit organisation in India for underprivileged children.
Sharmila believes in making a difference in her community and puts her heart and soul in every volunteer hour.
, Director of Chilliwack Street Teams
Maureen has over 20 years working in a counselling position in the domestic violence field focused on women and children victims of trauma. She played a key role in bringing the Agape Street Outreach to Chilliwack in 2013 and continues to coordinate and train volunteers as well as walk on the street supporting the women we serve.
She has recently completed a diploma in Addictions Recovery and is employed with Fraser Health in the Riverstone Detox program at Chilliwack Hospital and a men’s residential substance use recovery program. Past experience includes working at Seabird Island Aboriginal Recovery in the women’s and men’s treatment homes.
In her spare time, Maureen loves to trail run, hike and kayak in the great Chilliwack outdoors as well as travel with her husband. She is a mother of 3 grown children as well as a proud grandmother.
Sharon has been a member of Immaculate Conception Parish in Delta B.C. since 1972. She is married and has four grown children and thirteen grandchildren all of which are the love of her life.
Sharon was has been with Agape Street Ministry since the year 2000 and during that time has served as a Street Volunteer , started up the Agape Surrey Street Outreach Ministry and was Director of Agape Street Outreach in Surrey for five years . She has served as a Agape Director at Large since 2002. She has been the President of Sancta Maria House Association and Executive Director of Sancta Maria Healing/Recovery Home since 2004. Her background as a registered nurse has been influential and helpful in her performance to date. Sharon has been blessed to have served as a Team Member with the RCIA Program at her parish for five years. Sharon also served on her Parish Prayer Core Group and as a leader in the Parish Charismatic Prayer Meetings for over six years. Her love for the Charismatic Movement has given her the opportunity to participate in Life in the Spirit Seminars as a sponsor, speaker and prayer minister as well as participating in many workshops on healing, trauma and deliverance. Currently Sharon serves as a Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist in her parish. Sharon sees herself as someone called to serve the women that the Lord has placed in her life.
Clara Lum is no stranger to the word dynamic and a believer we can all make a difference in the world. She has a desire to help others and believes that everyone has value and a purpose. This is what drives her in almost everything that she does in life. Originally born in the Fiji Islands, her family’s values and her Catholic faith have been the driver in how she serves her community today.
She’s worked in the financial industry for the last 25 years and has taken on various roles that have helped develop her work experience in areas such as business development, marketing, portfolio management and client service. She currently works for one of the top five financial institutions in Canada for a senior wealth advisory team that has built a legacy for providing wealth planning solutions for both retail and institutional clients. She holds a position as an Associate Portfolio Manager and Chartered Investment Manager assisting clients with financial planning and portfolio advisory services.
Today, she serves on the planning committee and the leadership team in her Church and has taken her years of experience to support other ministry initiatives. She continues to support the women at Sancta Maria House and currently sits on the board of directors for both the Agape Ministry and Sancta Maria House.
, Director-at Large
Shelley is currently employed by Sancta Maria House where she has worked as a house parent for 10 years. She has over 20 years’ experience in working directly with people suffering from addictions. In addition to her direct experience in working with individuals she ensures ongoing education and learning by attending community college programs for ongoing education. Shelley volunteers on the board of directors at Agape Street Ministry as a Director-at-Large.
Shelley is also a core member of the Agape Street team volunteering on the downtown eastside. As well, she works with seniors as a personal shopper and volunteers in various soup kitchens. Her core values include compassion enthusiasm and simply wanting to be a little sunshine on a rainy day and to share Gods blessings.
